Restaurants open for business in Colchester

Oakmont have recently completed works at Greytown House in Colchester to deliver a refurbishment to an existing mixed-use building in the busy high street.

At the rear of the building, works included an extension on the ground floor level, supported on steel V shape legs with an under-croft area. The new extension formed the shell for three new restaurants and eateries.

The high-street facades of these restaurants were installed with new glazing, doors and with adaptations to the stonework.

The top four floors of the building, which will later be converted into residential flats, were made good internally, with window replacements, the installation of new Velux windows to the mansard, and external stone cleaning.

Additionally, a new substation was installed at the rear of the building, to supply power to the retail and residential area.
