Data for Dagenham

Oakmont are proud to have recently secured a 24,000m2 data centre in Dagenham, Essex. Oakmont will be working with NTT, e-shelter and AXA and will be employing leading data centre Architects NWA and Waldeck Consultants as their design team.

The works will consist of a new build 24,000m2 Data Centre shell building to be known as Building 1 and an accompanying gatehouse on a site of 55,000m2. This will form part of the new campus to be known as The UK London 1 Data Centre.

Building 1 will be constructed to a Shell and Core finish with piled foundations, a steel frame and concrete floors. It will house an innovation lab capable of testing and trialing data servers and technological solutions to industry innovators before “going live”. The Data Centre will be one of the UK’s largest capable of 60MW IT load once fully developed.

The Gatehouse will be finished to a CAT A standard and will hold all associated services such as toilets, kitchenettes, changing facilities and a security base.

Externally security works, retaining walls and entry roads will be installed. There will be an installation of an underground infrastructure for power supplies connecting to the future Substation. Hard and Soft Landscaping including a new car park area will be installed to the North of the site.

The whole project will be completed to BREEAM Very good with design, including renewable sources of energy including various PV arrays, grey water harvesting and an external living wall.
